Ravi Bishnoi resolved his no ball issue: The England tour was very bad for Indian leg-spinner Ravi Bishnoi. During the T20 match played in Manchester, Ravi Bishnoi’s back foot was repeatedly crossing the side’s return crease while bowling. Due to which, after three sides bowled no-balls in the same match, this incident became a topic of discussion in social media and cricket circles. However, sensing this problem, the Indian team management has immediately found a solution. Ahead of the second T20 match against Zimbabwe, India’s bowling coach Sunil Joshi revealed that Bishnoi did not need any major technical changes but only a small adjustment.
No action, there was a problem in the alignment of the run-up
Sunil Joshi clarified that there was nothing wrong with Ravi Bishnoi’s bowling action, rather the alignment of his run-up has been improved. Joshi said, ‘He has not made any changes in his bowling action. He has only re-corrected the alignment of his run-up. We discussed it with the support staff including regular bowling coach Sairaj Bahutule and worked closely with Ravi.
Ravi Bishnoi got to play the only match on the England tour in Manchester only. But in this match, he gave away 60 runs without taking any wicket, which also became the reason for the defeat. At one time England needed 49 runs to win in the last 24 balls. But Ravi Bishnoi turned the match towards England by spending 29 runs in just one over. In the same over, he bowled two side no-balls. Due to which he was sitting out in the remaining matches.
Effect of change visible on Zimbabwe tour
Bishnoi, who was out of the remaining matches of the series after the Manchester match, made a brilliant comeback in the first T20 against Zimbabwe after this change. Bowling with excellent control, he took 1 wicket for just 24 runs in 4 overs and did not bowl a single side no-ball. Expressing happiness over this, the bowling coach said, ‘Now we see that he is not even going close to the return crease. Honestly, it is a great relief for both them and us.
