US Ambassador to India Sergio Gore, who attended the event, said the book pays tribute to the individuals who have shaped the India-US partnership over the years.

The book honors 250 illustrious individuals from different eras and backgrounds who have dedicated their professional efforts to enhancing US-India relations.
These individuals include artists and architects, academicians and activists, diplomats and doctors, entrepreneurs and engineers, Presidents and Prime Ministers, policy-makers and pioneers, both living and deceased.
It said USISPF’s first coffee table book, ‘We the People – 75 Years of U.S.-India Relations’, was launched in 2022. It celebrated the platinum jubilee of India’s independence and 75 years of US-India diplomatic relations.
Jaishankar and Rubio meet in Manila
The release follows talks between US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar on the sidelines of the 59th ASEAN Foreign Ministers’ Meeting in Manila on July 22. The talks focused on recent developments in West Asia and the Indo-Pacific, reviewed progress on major defense deals and agreed on the urgent need to finalize an interim bilateral trade agreement.
According to an office of the US State Department, the two leaders discussed taking forward the bilateral commitments made during talks between US President Donald Trump and Prime Minister Narendra Modi last year.
“Secretary and Minister Jaishankar discussed recent developments in the Middle East and Indo-Pacific,” the readout said.
Discussions also focused on defense cooperation, with both sides reviewing progress on agreements arising from Trump-Modi commitments.
“Secretary and Minister Jaishankar discussed finalizing key defense agreements to fulfill the commitments made between President Trump and Prime Minister Modi last year,” the statement said.
Trade was another major area of discussion, with Rubio and Jaishankar stressing the need to finalize an interim bilateral trade arrangement.
“Secretary and Minister Jaishankar agreed on the importance of finalizing the interim trade deal, which is almost complete,” the readout further said.
According to Jaishankar, the minister met US Secretary of State Marco Rubio in Manila and discussed key areas of the India-US comprehensive global strategic partnership as the Quad Foreign Ministers’ Meeting (FMM) was reconvened on the sidelines of ASEAN-related meetings. (ANI)
