Baba Mahakal woke up at 3 o’clock in the night to give darshan to the devotees.
The month of Sawan has started. This morning i.e. on the first day of Sawan, Kaal of Kaal Baba Mahakal woke up an hour early to give darshan to his devotees. Due to changes in the darshan arrangements in the world famous Shri Mahakaleshwar Temple, the doors of the temple were opened at 3 am today after taking permission from Lord Virbhadra. After this, Baba Mahakal was adorned with supernatural makeup and ashes were offered to him.
Giving information, priest of Mahakaleshwar temple, Pandit Om Sharma said that with the beginning of Shravan month, changes have been made in the darshan arrangements in the court of Baba Mahakal from today. Till now, Bhasma Aarti of Baba Mahakal used to start at 4 am every day, but from today the doors of the temple were opened for Bhasma Aarti at 3 am only.

He told that Baba Mahakal was anointed with water, milk, curd, ghee, sugar, panchamrit and fruit juice. After this, Hariom water was offered by ringing the first bell. After this, the priest and priests performed divine adornment of Baba Mahakal and made him wear a silver crown along with camphor aarti.
After adornment, ashes were offered to Baba Mahakal on behalf of Mahanirvani Akhara.
The mobile darshan system started with Bhasma Aarti.
From the first day of the month of Shravan, the system of mobile darshan has also started in all the aartis happening daily in the Mahakal temple. Thousands of devotees had darshan of Baba Mahakal during Bhasma Aarti this morning. After this, devotees will also be able to have darshan of Baba Mahakal under the moving darshan system during Bal Bhog Aarti, Bhog Aarti, Evening Aarti and Sleeping Aarti.
