This is Pakistan’s eighth consecutive Test defeat abroad. The team has not won an away Test match since its win against Sri Lanka in 2023. At the same time, this is only the second victory of West Indies in the last 11 Test matches. Earlier, on the fourth day, West Indies were all out for 181 runs in their second innings.

After this crushing defeat against West Indies, captain Babar Azam vented his anger on his own batsmen. He said, “The outcome of the match is not always in our hands. We played well the last two days, but today we completely failed as a batting unit. The batsmen kept throwing away their wickets, which became the reason for the defeat.” Babar admitted that it was natural to get swing with the new ball on the fourth day and the West Indies bowlers took advantage of the situation very well.

Babar further said that the batsmen failed to build important partnerships, which led the team to defeat. He also cited the injury of former captain Shan Masood as a reason for the defeat, who came to bat at number eight despite a fractured finger. Babar said, “Shan Masood’s finger injury is serious. His absence affected the batting. Our plan was to last 20 overs before the new ball and build a partnership. Batting would have become easier if the ball was old, but no one could implement this plan.”
