Earlier, both were seen together in films like ‘Mounam Pesiyadhe’, ‘Aayutha Ezhuthu’ and ‘Aaru’. The film also stars Indrans, Natty Subramaniam, Swasika, Sivadha, Supreeth Reddy and Yogi Babu. Giving the film 1.5 stars, the user wrote, “This is a very bad film.” After this review, the debate regarding the film intensified on social media. However, many fans believe that instead of relying on initial reviews, the decision should be taken only after watching the film in the theatre.

Shows canceled due to financial dispute
The film is now in the news more for its release controversy than its content. According to reports, the 9 am shows of ‘Karuppu’ have been canceled in many places including Tamil Nadu and abroad. Producer SR Prabhu posted on RJ Balaji assured the fans and wrote, “My dear fans, I do not have any concrete answer on the current situation. The producers are trying their best to remove all the difficulties. This film has always faced difficulties, but God has brought us through every time. This time too I have full faith. ‘Karuppan’ will break every obstacle. ‘Karuppu’ will be released tomorrow morning in a grand manner. Have faith, everything will happen.”
Surya praised RJ Balaji a lot
During the promotion of the film, Surya praised RJ Balaji a lot. He said, “I always call RJ Balaji ‘director’. I have immense respect for his journey. He is multi-talented—RJ, commentator, actor, writer and director. But he is also a wonderful friend, father and team leader. I loved spending time with him.”
