A heart-wrenching incident has come to light in Indore. A son beat his 60 year old mother to death. When the accused went to his wife’s maternal home, he brought another woman into the house, against which the mother protested. The police have arrested the accused son.
Indore (Madhya Pradesh) [भारत]July 16 (ANI): A 35-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly beating his 60-year-old mother to death following a domestic dispute in Madhya Pradesh’s Indore district. A police officer gave this information on Thursday. The incident took place on Wednesday at the family’s residence in Niranjanpur Basti of Lasudia police station area of the district.
According to the police, the dispute started when the victim, identified as Geeta Bai, objected to her son Akash allegedly bringing another woman home while he was staying at his wife’s maternal house.
Son beat up mother when she protested
Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (Additional DCP, Zone 2) Amrendra Singh told ANI, “Geeta Bai and her son Akash were at home when a dispute broke out. The fight started due to the fact that Akash had brought another woman into the house after his wife left for her maternal home. When his mother Geeta Bai objected to this, an altercation broke out between the two, during which Akash beat her with his hands and punches; he later died after being taken to the hospital. It’s done.”
Police registered a case of murder
On receiving information about the incident, the police registered a case under relevant sections of the Indian Justice Code (BNS) at Lasudia police station and arrested the accused. “The Lasudia police have registered a case of murder against the accused son under section 103 of the BNS (punishment for murder). Prima facie, based on the statements of the neighbors who arrived at the spot and intervened, a case of murder has been established and the accused – his son Akash – has been arrested. The entire family lives in Niranjanpur Basti and they all work as laborers and live together in the same house,” the officer said. Further investigation into the matter is underway. (ANI)
