Tehseen Mohammad Jamshed fulfilled his father’s dream
Tahseen Mohammad Jamshed Jamshed Thatchankandi is a resident of Kozhikode (Calicut), Kerala, he has also been a footballer. But he could never play for the Indian team. Even though his father’s dream of playing for the country remained unfulfilled, now his 19-year-old son is going to create history on the biggest stage of the FIFA World Cup. Let us tell you, in the year 1992, Jamshed was selected for the Indian Youth Football Camp. At that time he played with Paul Ancheri, one of the best footballers of Kerala. But due to university matches and injury, his dream of playing for the Indian team was shattered.
After this, in the year 1996, he went to Doha (Qatar) with his wife Shaima, who is a resident of Kerala. In Doha, Jamshed used to play football with his friends on the local grounds on Friday holidays. Then only 4-year-old Tahseen used to sit in the dug-out outside the field and watch his father play. From there, Tehseen developed a passion for football. Tahseen is a big fan of the great footballer Cristiano Ronaldo. During the World Cup held in Qatar in 2022, he was sitting in the stands enjoying the matches between Portugal and Qatar. But this time he himself will come out of the galleries of the stadium and represent the country in the middle of the field.
Journey from Aspire Academy to FIFA World Cup
Tahseen’s talent was recognized by the local coaches of Qatar in his childhood. In the year 2017, he was selected in the sub-junior team of Al-Duhail SC. He then became a part of Aspire Academy, Qatar’s world famous football development program, where he honed his sporting talent. At Al-Duhail Club, he got the opportunity to spend time and learn from big international stars like Marco Verratti and Philippe Coutinho. Then he debuted for Qatar’s Under-17 and Under-19 teams in 2023 and 2024. This time, at the age of just 17, he played his first match for Qatar’s senior team in the FIFA World Cup qualifier match against Afghanistan.
