Anil Ravipudi about how Jana Nayagan Happened?

Director Anil Ravipudi has finally spoken about how Vijay’s Jana Nayagan happened. Ever since it was confirmed that the film was inspired by Bhagavanth Kesari, there has been curiosity about whether the Telugu director was involved in the remake. Anil has now clarified the entire episode in a recent interaction.

According to Anil Ravipudi, Vijay watched Bhagavanth Kesari after its release and liked the film very much. The Tamil Superstar reportedly watched it more than once and later expressed his wish to adapt the story for the Tamil audience. Vijay then discussed the idea with director H Vinoth, who developed a new screenplay by retaining the core emotion while making several changes to suit Vijay’s image and the Tamil audience.

Anil said he was informed about the development only after Vijay had shown interest in the film. He added that he was happy to know that an actor of Vijay’s stature connected with Bhagavanth Kesari. The director also clarified that he was not involved in rewriting or directing the Tamil version and that the entire adaptation was handled by H Vinoth.

He further stated that Jana Nayagan should not be viewed as a frame-by-frame remake. According to him, the makers have made several changes, particularly in the second half, while preserving the emotional soul of the original story. He requested audiences to watch the film before comparing it with Bhagavanth Kesari.

With Jana Nayagan carrying the emotional weight of being Vijay’s final film before his complete political journey, the adaptation has naturally attracted attention. The film is hitting the screens tomorrow. Pooja Hegde, Mamita Baiju and Bobby Deol played other important roles and KVN Productions bankrolled the project.
