New Delhi: Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) have signed RS Ambrish as an injury replacement for Shivam Mavi for the remainder of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 season. Mavi has been ruled out of the ongoing season due to a groin injury.
Ambrish, who is an all-rounder, was a part of the victorious India Under-19 squad of the World Cup 2026. He was also Indiaβs joint-highest wicket-taker at the tournament, taking 11 scalps. Ambrish will join SRH for Rs 30 lakh.

His ability to contribute with both bat and ball has made him one of the brightest young prospects in Indian cricket. SRH have previously signed Gerald Coetzee and Dilshan Madushanka as replacement players to boost their fast bowling attack. The South African pacer joined the SRH squad as a replacement for David Payne, who was ruled out of the season due to an ankle injury.
Payne was also signed as a replacement for the Australian all-rounder Jack Edwards, who was ruled out due to a foot injury. Sri Lankan fast bowler Dilshan Madushanka joined the SRH squad as a replacement for Brydon Carse, who was sidelined after suffering a hand injury in the nets.

SRH are currently in a brilliant form in the IPL 2026, and are placed in the third position on the points table. The Pat Cummins-led side has won five consecutive matches, defeating Rajasthan Royals (RR), Chennai Super Kings (CSK), Delhi Capitals (DC), Rajasthan Royals (RR) and Mumbai Indians (MI). They will next face the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium on Sunday, April 3.
