A journey full of happiness suddenly turned into death
People had come to Bargi Dam for a walk with their families. The evening weather, the cruise going on in the water and the laughter of the families, everything was normal. But no one had any idea that within a few minutes this journey would turn into screams and pain. Suddenly at around 6 pm strong winds started blowing. High waves arose in the water and the cruise started losing its balance. Within no time there was chaos.
According to eyewitnesses and initial information, during the accident, the mother first tried to wear the life jacket herself and then started trying to keep her younger daughter safe. But the situation deteriorated so rapidly that both of them got trapped under the cruise. People present nearby were trying to save their lives. Screams, calls for help and the fear of people drowning had spread throughout the atmosphere. Amidst this chaos, the mother kept holding her daughter close to her chest.

Dead bodies of mother and daughter found after 12 hours
After the accident, the rescue operation continued throughout the night. Divers of Police, SDRF, NDRF and Army continued searching for people in deep water. After about 12 hours, when the divers took out the bodies trapped inside the cruise, the most emotional scene came to light. According to the rescue team, the mother was holding her daughter so tightly as if she was trying to save her till her last breath. Seeing this scene, the eyes of the soldiers present at the spot were filled with tears.

10 minutes of chaos destroyed many families
According to preliminary investigation, the accident happened within just 10 minutes. It is being told that people gathered on one side to get life jackets, due to which the balance of the cruise got disturbed. Some people swam out, but many passengers remained trapped inside. So far, 9 people have been confirmed dead, while many people have been injured.
Serious questions are being raised on security arrangements
After the accident, the biggest question being raised is regarding the security arrangements. If the passengers had been fitted with life jackets in advance, if the cruise had been stopped when the weather turned bad, perhaps such a huge tragedy could have been avoided. Experts believe that even minor negligence in following safety rules in water tourism can prove fatal.

Government announced compensation
Madhya Pradesh government has announced an assistance amount of Rs 4 lakh each to the families of those who lost their lives in the accident. Minister Rakesh Singh and Tourism Minister Dharmendra Lodhi were present on the spot the whole night. Chief Minister Mohan Yadav has also expressed grief over the accident and ordered an investigation.
