It has been almost 19 years since we saw Sanjay Dutt’s ‘Munna’ and Arshad Warsi’s ‘Circuit’ together on the big screen, but the wait for ‘Munna Bhai 3’ is still not over. Fans have been wanting to know for a long time why this most awaited film is not being made. Now director Rajkumar Hirani and actor Arshad Warsi have revealed this mystery. Both of them have revealed that there is not one, but three different scripts of the film. The problem is not in the beginning of the story, but in that one important link which is necessary to make a strong film of the level of ‘Munna Bhai’ franchise.
Why couldn’t ‘Munna Bhai 3’ be made even after 19 years?
Munna Bhai MBBS, released in 2003, and Lage Raho Munna Bhai, released in 2006, achieved cult status in Hindi cinema. After this, there was continuous discussion about the third part, but the film could never reach the floor. According to Rajkumar Hirani, the problem is not to find a new story. The real challenge is to create a story that keeps the audience engaged from beginning to end. Speaking to Hindustan Times, Hirani said, “If you just want to watch Munna Bhai till the interval, I can make five films right now. Because I don’t have a story after that.”

There is no dearth of ideas related to Munna-Circuit.
Rajkumar Hirani told that there is no dearth of new ideas for Munna and Circuit, but the legacy of the franchise is so strong that he does not want to take any script and make a film just for the sake of box office earnings. Hirani further said, “To be honest, I want to make ‘Munna Bhai 3’. If anyone else were in my place, I would have said write any script, the film will take a big opening and make a lot of money. But I don’t want to do that. We have made two great films. If I just wanted to make money, I would have made four-five parts by now. The new film will have to at least reach the level of the previous films.”
Arshad Warsi’s big revelation, three scripts are ready
Arshad Warsi made the biggest revelation about the film. He told that people think that the script is not ready, whereas the truth is completely different. Arshad said, “There are three almost finished scripts lying there. And to be honest, all three are better than most of the scripts I have heard in my career. I am not joking. Each script has such amazing scenes and ideas that grab your attention immediately.”

‘Just a ‘jigsaw puzzle’ piece missing’
According to Arshad Warsi, the problem is with just one small link. He said, “There is just a small connection missing in these stories. A piece of the jigsaw puzzle is not fitting right now. As soon as it is found, we will move ahead. At some places the ending does not seem complete, at some places the flow of the story gets broken. But I am sure Raju Sir will definitely find it.”
