In order to protect against any kind of fraud, misleading publicity or fraud during the admission process, Chhattisgarh Private University Regulatory Commission has issued necessary guidelines in the interest of students.
In the circular issued by the Secretary of the Commission, Shri Ashok Aggarwal, it has been said that before taking admission in any private university, students must check some important facts. With this, their educational future will be secure and they will not have to face any kind of problem in future.
Private University Admission: Must check the valid notification of the university
Before taking admission, it is necessary to ensure that the concerned university is duly notified by the state government under the Chhattisgarh Private Universities (Establishment and Operation) Act-2005. If an institution is not notified under this Act, then students may face problems in future by taking admission there.
Chhattisgarh Private University Rules: It is necessary to publish in the Gazette
It is mandatory for the statutes and ordinances of private universities to be published in the Gazette of Chhattisgarh Government. According to the rules, the university acquires the right to admit students only after its publication in the Gazette. If the rules and ordinances of a university are not published in the Gazette, then the admission process being conducted by it will not be considered to be in accordance with the rules. Therefore, please confirm this fact before entering.
Affiliation Rules: No off-campus affiliations allowed
All the private universities of Chhattisgarh operate in a unitary format. This means that they cannot give affiliation to any other college or educational institution outside their main campus. Such universities can offer courses only within their authorized campuses or study schools. If an institution claims to be affiliated with a private university, it is necessary to check its authenticity.
UGC Approved Courses: Take admission only in UGC approved courses.
Whatever course, degree or diploma the students are going to take admission in, it is important to check whether it is approved by the University Grants Commission (UGC) or not. Besides, the related course should also be mentioned in the ordinance of the university, which is published in the Gazette. The rules of University Grants Commission Regulations-2022 apply for award of PhD degree. In such a situation, researchers should ensure that regular research directors with prescribed qualifications for the subject in which they want to do research are available in the university. The Commission has clarified that conducting research work by taking the services of external research directors is not in accordance with the rules of UGC. Therefore, before taking admission in PhD, it is important to get complete information about the research system of the university.
