Nitish Rana Efforts In Vain, West Delhi Lions Lose By 10 Wickets
Despite Nitish Rana’s valiant solo effort, the West Delhi Lions struggled to find partnerships and were eventually dismissed for 169 by the South Delhi Superstarz at the Arun Jaitley Stadium. Ultimately, Rana’s courageous knock could not prevent a heavy defeat, as the Superstarz cruised to a dominant 10-wicket win.
In pursuit of 170, the Superstarz openers dictated terms from the outset. Sanat Sangwan and Anmol Sharma powered to an unbeaten 55-run stand early on, with Sangwan playing the role of the primary aggressor. He blazed his way to a 25-ball fifty in the eighth over, while Sharma steadily reached his own half-century in the 13th over off 36 balls.
Sangwan showed no signs of slowing down, unleashing a brutal onslaught to bring up a spectacular 50-ball hundred by the 15th over. He anchored the chase to the very end, remaining unbeaten on a destructive 111 from 54 deliveries, laced with six fours and 10 sixes. At the other end, Sharma provided flawless support, finishing 55 not out off 38 balls (six fours, one six), as the South Delhi Superstarz decisively closed out the match with 28 deliveries to spare.
