Vinesh Phogat has got relief from the Supreme Court. The Supreme Court of the country has given permission to Vinesh to participate in the selection trials of Asian Games 2026. The Supreme Court said that we are not interfering, you go and participate. After getting permission from the Supreme Court, now further doors have opened for Vinesh Phogat. By performing better in the trials, she would like to get a ticket for the Asian Games 2026. The Asian Games 2026 is to be held in Japan from September 19 to October 4 this year.
WFI challenged HC’s decision in SC
Earlier, Indian female wrestler Vinesh Phogat had also got permission from Delhi High Court to participate in the selection trials of Asian Games. But WFI i.e. Wrestling Federation of India challenged this decision in the Supreme Court. Now on May 29, when the case was heard, the verdict once again came in favor of Vinesh Phogat.
Supreme Court also gave permission to Vinesh for trials
The Supreme Court upheld the same decision which the High Court had given on May 22. After getting relief from the Supreme Court, Vinesh Phogat will now be seen participating in the trials for the Asian Games, which are to be held on May 30 and June 3.
