Sydney Sweeney Refused Sam Levinson To Cut N*de Scenes For Euphoria Season 3 – ‘I Am Playing An OnlyFans Model’

Euphoria Season 3 has been one of the most talked-about shows of 2026. At the centre of the conversations around the HBO series is Sydney Sweeney, who plays Cassie Howard. Her character’s storyline this season takes a bold turn into the world of OnlyFans, and the explicit scenes that followed shocked many. Now, director Sam Levinson has revealed something surprising. It was actually Sweeney herself who pushed for those scenes to stay in.

Sydney Sweeney Didn’t Want Euphoria Season 3 N*de Scenes To Be Cut

Euphoria creator Sam Levinson says he considered shooting Season 3 without any nudity for Cassie, the character that launched Sydney Sweeney’s career. But she had other ideas.

In a candid interview with the New York Times, Levinson opened up about the conversation. He said he initially thought about filming everything while avoiding nudity altogether.

However, Sweeney pointed out that her character was playing an OnlyFans creator, and that avoiding n*dity would make no sense. And Levinson agreed with her point.

Levinson praised Sweeney as a ‘totally fearless and “wonderfully professional’ actress, saying there is a great deal of trust between them. He also noted they were tackling the world of OnlyFans, where women are being paid for intimate content.

Sweeney had previously defended her NSFW scenes in Euphoria, saying she was proud of her work but felt no one talked about it because she got naked. She also argued that there is a stigma against actresses who get naked on screen, while men in similar roles continue to win awards.

Euphoria Season 3 Ends

Euphoria Season 3 has now been confirmed to be the last. The finale, titled  , ends tragically when Rue, played by Zendaya, accidentally takes fentanyl-laced pills thinking they are Percocet and dies of an overdose.

Ali, played by Colman Domingo, discovers what happened and seeks revenge, eventually killing Alamo at a nightclub. Laurie also dies during a DEA raid, making the finale one of the most deadly episodes in the show’s history.

Sydney Sweeney’s Upcoming Projects

Sydney Sweeney is not slowing down after Euphoria. She is set to star in a boxing biopic about 1990s champion Christy Martin, taking on a physically demanding role that includes a complete transformation for the part.

She is also returning as Millie in The Housemaid’s Secret, the sequel to her 2025 hit The Housemaid, which is set for release in December 2027.

Sweeney is also teaming up with Netflix for a live-action Gundam film alongside Noah Centineo, and has signed on for Split Fiction, directed by Wicked’s Jon M Chu.
