Now, the work is reportedly nearing completion, a report mentioned that the renovation is expected to wrap up in the next two to three months. Shah Rukh, Gauri Khan and their children Aryan, Suhana and AbRam have been staying in two duplex apartments in Pali Hill during the renovation. If the current timeline holds, the family could return to Mannat by the end of 2026.

Shah Rukh Khan and family to return to Mannat

Shah Rukh Khan, Gauri Khan and their children Aryan, Suhana and AbRam moved out of Mannat in 2025 as extensive renovation and repair work began at the Bandra property. The family has since been staying in two duplex apartments at Puja Casa in Pali Hill, leased as temporary residences during the renovation. The two apartments together span around 10,500 sq ft. Shah Rukh Khan moved into the Pali Hill residences in April 2025 under a 36-month lease arrangement. Located around 3 km from Mannat, the temporary homes measure approximately 6,000 sq ft and 4,500 sq ft respectively and were leased from members of the Bhagnani family.

Hindustan Times Real Estate reported that a source close to Shah Rukh Khan mentioned that the renovation work at Mannat is expected to be completed in the next two to three months. If the timeline remains on track, the actor and his family could move back to the iconic sea-facing bungalow by December 2026. The ongoing work includes a major expansion of the Mannat annexe. The building, which previously comprised around six floors, has had two additional floors added as part of the renovation.

The two new floors have a combined area of around 7,000 sq ft, taking the total size of the Mannat annexe to more than 30,000 sq ft. “The existing six floors of the Mannat annexe have also undergone repairs and renovation. However, no additional floors have been added to the main bungalow, as it is a heritage property and modifications of that scale are restricted,” the source told the portal.

More about Mannat renovation

While the annexe has been expanded, the original  bungalow has not received additional floors. The main structure is classified as a Grade-III heritage property, which places restrictions on major modifications to its original structure. Instead, the expansion has focused on the annexe located behind the main bungalow. The additional space gives the property a significantly larger footprint while retaining the existing structure of the heritage home.

A query sent to Shah Rukh Khan’s manager, Pooja Gurnani, did not receive a response. The story will be updated if a response is received.
