Actress and former Lock Upp 2 contestant Akanksha Chamola has addressed speculation surrounding the mysterious third secret she was expected to reveal on the reality show, as well as her family’s reaction to her revelations about her personal life.
In an exclusive interaction with IANS, Akanksha was asked whether her third secret was related to pregnancy. She declined to disclose details, saying she would reveal the secret only if she was compensated for it.
“No, no, no. Flip the question. I will get paid for the third secret. If someone says anything over it, I will reveal the third secret. Otherwise, I will not reveal it,” she said.
The response came amid social media speculation that her third secret could be related to pregnancy. Akanksha, however, has not confirmed the claim and was eliminated from the show before revealing the secret. Earlier reports had also clarified that pregnancy-related remarks made during the show were presented as a joke, rather than a confirmation of an actual pregnancy.
During her stint on Lock Upp 2, Akanksha revealed two secrets — her separation from actor Gaurav Khanna and her bisexuality. The latter became one of the most discussed moments of her journey on the show.
Asked whether her parents or Gaurav’s parents had reacted to her revelations, Akanksha said she was unaware of their response after leaving the show. She added that she does not communicate with her in-laws.
“My in-laws did not say anything because we do not talk to each other. And what would my parents say? Our parents are our own. Which parent would say anything to their child?” she said.
While on the show, Akanksha had hinted that revealing her third secret could potentially result in her and Gaurav being “lynched publicly”, further intensifying speculation among viewers.
She also rejected the description of her revelations as “very dark”, saying she had been living with her parents for around one-and-a-half years and that they were therefore somewhat prepared.
“I do not think it was a dark revelation. I think it was something that I have been living with my parents for the last one-and-a-half years, so it was not big news,” she said.
Akanksha added that her parents came to know about some aspects of her personal life through the show and said they were already aware of her bisexuality to some extent.
