A middle-aged man was brutally attacked in Pandalam, allegedly over an old rivalry. The accused, Sujith, attacked Vijesh Kumar and fled the scene. However, Pandalam police managed to track him down and arrest him within hours. The victim, Vijesh Kumar, is currently in the hospital.
Pathanamthitta: The Pandalam police have arrested a man just hours after he allegedly tried to murder another man and went into hiding. The accused has been identified as Sujith (45), a resident of Sreekrishna Bhavan in Kallumala, Mavelikkara. He is accused of attacking Vijesh Kumar, who is from Mudiyoorkonam.
The incident happened on Friday evening around 6 PM, near the Mudiyoorkonam Sastha Temple in Pandalam. According to the police, an old grudge was the reason behind the brutal attack. After the crime, Sujith fled the spot and went into hiding.

The police found Vijesh Kumar lying on the road, bleeding heavily. They immediately rushed him to the hospital in their own vehicle. He has a deep gash on his head and another cut on his left leg. The Pandalam police team acted swiftly, tracked down Sujith, and arrested him within a few hours.

The team that made the arrest was led by Pandalam Circle Inspector Babu Kurup, and included SHO Abin Prasad, and officers S. Anvarsha and Niyas. The police produced Sujith before the Adoor Judicial First Class Magistrate Court, and he has been remanded to judicial custody.
