Karnataka: 10 people have been arrested in the gang rape case of a 41 year old woman in Davanagere, Karnataka. The accused made the woman unconscious by mixing alcohol in a cold drink and then committed this heinous crime. Not only this, these people made a video of the incident and made it viral on social media.
According to the information, the woman had left the house after a fight with her husband. She was sitting and crying somewhere in Davangere, when some accused approached her. He pretended to console the woman and drop her home.
Two of the accused gave the woman a cold drink, which was mixed with alcohol. The woman became unconscious after drinking it. After this the accused took her to a place named Yalodhaalli in Channagiri taluka and raped her. Later, he also called his friends there and they all took turns to rape the woman. The accused also made a video of this entire incident with their mobile phones and spread it on social media.
When the woman regained consciousness the next day, she somehow reached her brother’s house and lodged a complaint at the Basavapattana police station. Meanwhile, the viral video had also come to the notice of the police. The police took immediate action and arrested all the 10 accused.
The police interrogated the accused rigorously and also collected evidence by taking them to the scene of the incident. As soon as the news of the arrest of the accused spread, a large number of local people gathered outside the police station and protested fiercely. People were demanding strict action against the accused. The police pacified the crowd with great difficulty and assured of strict action.
