Bhopal. Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav conducted a detailed review of the schemes and activities of the Backward Classes and Minority Welfare Department on June 8. In the meeting, he instructed the officials that the subsidy and loan assistance given to the eligible beneficiaries under the enterprise and self-employment schemes should be made available on time. Also, after receiving the benefits, regular monitoring of its utilization should also be ensured.

The Chief Minister said that the department should not be limited to just completing its administrative processes, but should also actively help the beneficiaries in getting loans and subsidies from the banks. He also clarified that the scholarships payable to the backward class and minority class students should be distributed within the prescribed time limit in the same academic year. For this, better coordination should be established with school education, higher education and other related departments.

Instructions to simplify departmental processes and quick resolution of technical problems

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that the objective of every process of governance should be to deliver the benefits of schemes to the eligible people in a simple, easy and time bound manner. He directed the officials to immediately resolve any technical or procedural hurdles so that the beneficiaries do not have to face unnecessary hassles.

Madhya Pradesh tops the country in entry of Waqf properties.

In the meeting, the Chief Minister gave instructions to register the details of all the Waqf properties of the state on the ‘Umeed Portal’ of the Central Government. Besides, emphasis was laid on regular monitoring of land disputes related to Waqf properties and their prompt resolution. Officials informed that Madhya Pradesh ranks first in the country in terms of entry of Waqf properties on ‘Umeed Portal’, which is an important achievement for the state.

Emphasis on pending announcements and speedy disposal of departmental matters

The Chief Minister directed to complete the pending announcements of the department on priority basis. He said that departmental investigation should be completed within the stipulated time and appropriate action should be taken. Besides, monthly review of all physical and financial targets should be done and they should be achieved in a time bound manner.

Department is developing virtual voice assistance tool

It was informed in the meeting that a ‘Virtual Voice Assistance Tool’ is being developed to provide information about all the schemes and services of the department to the beneficiaries. Apart from this, under the ‘Digital Marketing for Promoting Departmental Activity’ campaign, students are being made aware of various schemes through MP Online. The Chief Minister directed to link this innovation with the MP e-Seva portal, so that information about schemes related to employment, self-employment and skill development can be available to students of OBC and other categories on a single platform.

Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Simulated Space Center will be established

In the meeting, Principal Secretary E. Ramesh Kumar told that Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Simulated Space Center will soon be established in Madhya Pradesh with the help of the Ministry of Minority Affairs of the Central Government. The objective of this center is to develop scientific attitude among students and common citizens and increase interest in space science. Cooperation of the Department of Science and Technology and Madhya Pradesh Council of Science and Technology (Mapcast) will be taken in its operation.

Preparation to recruit youth in security forces through Shaurya Sankalp Yojana

Officials said that under the Shaurya Sankalp Training Scheme, 12th passed youth from Other Backward Classes are being given training for recruitment in the Army, Paramilitary Forces, Police, Home Guards and private security agencies. This scheme is operated in 20 districts of the state and till now about 4 thousand youth have participated in it. The training program will conclude on June 30.

Scholarship increased in Delhi Student Home Scheme, number of beneficiaries also increased

It was told in the meeting that important improvements have been made in the Delhi Hostel Scheme. Now the scholarship amount has been increased from Rs 1,550 to Rs 10,000. At the same time, the number of beneficiaries has also been increased from 50 to 300 annually.

Mess facility will start for the first time in OBC hostels

For the first time in the history of the state, the department is starting mess facility in the hostels of backward classes. 31 girls hostels of the department have been developed as model hostels. About Rs 20.50 crore is said to be required for the upgradation of the remaining 24 hostels.

Improvement in foreign study scholarship and coaching schemes also

Officials said that the selection process in the Backward Class Foreign Study Scholarship Scheme has been made more transparent. Now the candidates will be selected as per merit based on eight different parameters instead of just one parameter. Apart from this, under the Sardar Patel Coaching Training Scheme, 4,500 youth will be provided coaching for the preparation of competitive examinations at the divisional level. This training program is likely to start from July-August. Many innovations are also being implemented in departmental hostels so that students can get better facilities.
