According to the police, the accused abducted the girl around 5 am on Monday when she was sleeping on the footpath with her family in Mehrauli. Police said that the accused has confessed to his crime. He told that the girl’s body was thrown on the Faridabad-Gurugram road. More information is awaited in the matter.

  • Meanwhile, in another similar incident that took place in the month of May, Madhya Pradesh Police had arrested three people. Officials confirmed that he was accused of gang rape of a minor girl and was caught with the help of footage from around 100 CCTV cameras.
  • The matter came to light when a police patrol team found the victim girl. According to the police, two men lured the minor from a local bus stand and took him to an isolated place. After this, on the intervening night of 15th and 16th May, she was brutally tortured and left alone.
  • Superintendent of Police (SP) Rajat Saklecha told ANI, “On the intervening night of 15th and 16th, a minor girl had come to the local bus stand with the intention of going somewhere else; later she went to the first floor of a nearby market complex. Seeing her and taking advantage of the opportunity, two youths lured her to another place, where three youths gang-raped her.”
  • Police said that all three suspects are in custody. The car and scooter used in the alleged crime have been seized under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses (POCSO) Act and kidnapping charges.

Police scanned 100 CCTV footage

“Later, they abandoned her at Chhatrasal Square. When a police patrol found the girl, she was counseled and a formal case was registered under serious sections like gangrape, kidnapping and under the POCSO Act,” the SP said.

Talking about the promptness of the police in arresting the accused, the SP said that the officers scrutinized 100 CCTV footages to identify the suspects.
