28 km mileage, AMT gearbox and price from Rs 6.89 lakh: Most affordable automatic CNG cars in India 2026

Automatic CNG cars remain a small but growing segment in India, combining the convenience of a clutch free gearbox with the lower running costs of CNG. Tata currently leads this space, with Nissan also offering a CNG automatic option.

Nissan Magnite

Magnite is one of the cheapest CNG automatic options, priced from around Rs 6.89 lakh, with its CNG kit offered alongside an EZ-Shift AMT gearbox. Unlike Tata’s factory-fitted setup, its CNG system is retrofitted, with a claimed mileage of around 24 km/kg.

Tata Tiago iCNG AMT

Tata Tiago was the first Tata car to get a factory-fitted automatic CNG option, priced from Rs 7.05 lakh to around Rs 8.10 lakh. It uses a 1.2 litre petrol CNG engine paired with a 5-speed AMT gearbox, returning a claimed mileage of up to 28.06 km/kg, among the best in this segment.

Tata Tigor iCNG AMT

Tigor is priced from around Rs 8.29 lakh with its CNG AMT variant and shares its 1.2 litre CNG powertrain with the Tiago. It returns a claimed mileage of up to 28.06 km/kg, making it a practical sedan pick for buyers who want an automatic gearbox with CNG efficiency.

Tata Punch iCNG AMT

Punch became the first SUV in India to get a factory-fitted automatic CNG powertrain, priced from around Rs 8.54 lakh to Rs 9.74 lakh. It returns a claimed mileage of 26.99 km/kg and adds SUV styling and a raised stance to the CNG automatic segment.

Tata Altroz iCNG AMT

Altroz rounds out Tata’s CNG automatic lineup, priced from around Rs 8.70 lakh. It returns a claimed mileage of up to 27.8 km/kg, offering a more premium hatchback cabin compared with the Tiago while still keeping running costs low.
