‘Burj Khalifa’ tickets will be booked through UPI! NPCI’s big decision, now online booking will be done

NPCI International Payments Limited (NIPL) in collaboration with NEOPAY and Emaar Entertainment on Wednesday announced the launch of UPI payment facility for online booking at ‘At the Top, Burj Khalifa’. The International Branch of National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) said in a statement that with this, Indian tourists will be able to book the experience of visiting the world’s tallest building through its official website. This move will further expand NIPL’s existing partnership with NEOPAY in the UAE. Since the launch of QR-based UPI merchant payments in the country in 2022, Indian travelers have been using UPI-enabled apps to make payments on NEOPAY’s merchant network.

Planning will be easy

‘At the Top, Burj Khalifa’ is one of Dubai’s most visited tourist attractions and attracts travelers from all over the world, including a large number of travelers from India. NPCI said that now tourists can choose their experiences using UPI on the official website of ‘At the Top, Burj Khalifa’ and complete the payment before reaching there, making travel planning easier and convenient. Ritesh Shukla, MD and CEO, NPCI International, said, “By introducing UPI payments for online bookings at At the Top, Burj Khalifa, we are making it easier for travelers to make payments in a way they know and trust. They can use it while planning their travel, even before reaching UAE.

Easy to make payment in Middle East

Describing this as an important milestone for digital commerce between India and UAE, NEOPAY CEO Vibhor Mundhada said that the company has become the first company to provide UPI payment facility for e-commerce transactions in GCC. This will help merchants serve the millions of Indian customers who prefer digital payments. An Emaar Entertainment official said India is “one of our most important international markets” and introducing UPI as a payment option “simplifies the customer experience” for Indian guests. NIPL was formed as a wholly owned subsidiary of NPCI on April 3, 2020. As the international arm of NPCI, NIPL is working to implement NPCI’s indigenous and successful real-time payment system, Unified Payments Interface (UPI) and card scheme (RuPay) outside India.
