BCCI has rejected the news of resignation of 2 coaches. According to the board, the tenure of assistant coach Ryan ten Doeschate and fielding coach T Dilip had expired and they did not resign. New coaches will soon be appointed for the Sri Lanka tour.
Mumbai. Team India has got some relief by winning the series against Zimbabwe, but the turmoil within the team is not ending. On one hand, there is a heated discussion about the team’s victory under the coaching of VVS Laxman and on the other hand, the defeat under the coaching of Gautam Gambhir. Questions are being raised on Gautam Gambhir’s coaching on social media. Meanwhile, the news of ouster of two coaches from Team India has created an uproar. Assistant coach Ryan ten Doeschate and fielding coach T Dilip have left Team India. After the uproar over this, BCCI has now broken its silence.
What did BCCI say?
There were reports on social media that both these coaches had resigned due to differences within the team and differences with the head coach. But now BCCI has given clarification on this. The board has clarified that the tenure of Ryan ten Doeschate and T Dileep had ended, they have not resigned. BCCI had no intention of extending his contract. As soon as his tenure was over, he separated from the team.
The board also rejected the rumors being spread on social media that the coaches have been blamed for the defeat. BCCI said, “Nobody’s resignation has been taken nor has anyone been removed. His tenure was just over. The process of appointing new coaches will be started soon.”
New coach will come for Sri Lanka tour
BCCI said that new coaches will be appointed for Team India’s tour of Sri Lanka. Some applications are being considered for this. The board said, “The coach will be selected keeping in mind the upcoming challenges of Team India. We hope that Team India will perform better in the coming days.”
Let us tell you that Ryan ten Doeschate, considered close to Gautam Gambhir, left the coaching of KKR and joined Team India in 2024. Now after his tenure with Team India is over, he has joined KKR again. He will work with KKR till IPL 2027.
Recently the main coaching staff, including Gautam Gambhir, was rested for the T20 series against Zimbabwe. Then VVS Laxman was given the responsibility of head coach. Under the coaching of Laxman, Team India had made a clean sweep of the series 3-0. Earlier, the team had to face defeat in T20 and ODI series against Ireland and England.
