Dhirendra Krishna Shastri of Bageshwar Dham has distanced himself from brother Shaligram, who is accused of firing at a person in a land dispute. Shastri said that I have no connection with him and the law should take strict action.
Dhirendra Krishna Shastri, the head priest of Bageshwar Dham, has said that he has no connection with his brother Shaligram or his family after he was accused of allegedly firing at a person inside Rajnagar police station area in Madhya Pradesh’s Chhatarpur. He said the law should take its course and demanded strict punishment against the culprits. Shastri told ANI, “I had talked about Shaligram ji only three years ago. I have no connection with him; in fact, I have no connection with my family. Since Chhatarpur district and my family are very big, incidents of one kind or the other keep happening here. Let the law take its course and appropriate legal action be taken; whoever is responsible should be given the harshest possible punishment. I sincerely request you not to drag me into every case.” Go.”
There was a fight over land dispute
According to Chhatarpur Superintendent of Police (SP) Rajat Saklecha, the altercation took place over a land dispute. The injured man, identified as Motilal Kushwaha, said he was fired at and beaten with sticks. Police took the injured person to the district hospital and investigation into the case is ongoing.
The victim made serious allegations
The victim, Motilal Kushwaha, claimed that he was attacked by Shaligram and others, who beat and fired shots at him. He accused Shaligram of trying to grab a piece of land in the village. Kushwaha said, “There were Shaligram Garg, Ankit Mishra and two-three others. They beat me and fired at me. They fired three-four rounds from the pistol. My ear is also injured. Shaligram Garg hit me with a stick here. He was trying to capture people’s land–he had already captured a lot of land in the village. He hit me on the head with a stick here, and he also fired bullets from the pistol.” I saw him firing with my own eyes. There were four-five people there.”
