A family dispute that broke out from Feelkhana area of Kanpur has now turned into a murder case. The injured person died after battling for life in the hospital for about 11 days, after which the police have registered a case on the complaint of the deceased’s family and started investigation. According to the police, 45-year-old Manish Gupta, resident of Balaji Dham, worked as a broker in the grocery market. He was married to Niharika Kashyap about eight years ago and they both have a six-year-old son.
The attack took place after a family dispute
The relatives of the deceased allege that there was a domestic dispute going on between the husband and wife for some time. On June 5, there was an altercation between the two, after which Niharika was accused of attacking her with a kitchen knife. Seriously injured Manish was first admitted to the local hospital and later to Halat Hospital. His condition remained critical during treatment and he died on Tuesday.
Police is investigating all aspects
On the complaint of the deceased’s father Ramkishore Gupta, the police have registered a case of murder against the accused woman. The family members have also made some other serious allegations, which are being investigated. Police say that further action will be taken in the case on the basis of available evidence, medical report and statements of the concerned parties.
