6 policemen suspended in case of security lapse during PM Modi’s visit in Bengaluru. This action was taken after explosives were found on the route of his convoy. The investigation into the case is ongoing and no arrests have been made so far.
Bengaluru: Six policemen have been suspended in connection with the lapse in security of Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his visit to Bengaluru. This action has taken place after the incident when explosive material was found on the way of PM’s convoy. Bengaluru South SP R. Srinivas has taken this action against six policemen including a sub-inspector. At present, the names of the suspended policemen have not been disclosed.
This incident occurred on May 10, when PM Modi had gone to Bengaluru to attend a program of the Art of Living Foundation. About one and a half hour before his convoy passed, a suspicious box was found on the wall of a private place near Kuppareddy Kere on the route.
A constable noticed it and when it was examined, explosive material was found in it. Two gelatin sticks, matchsticks, camphor, batteries, wires, a real-time clock and an LCD display were packed in this box. However, police sources had initially informed that only two gelatin sticks and matchsticks had been found. But when NIA asked for information in this matter, then other items found in the box were also revealed.
This suspension will continue until the investigation is completed. A case has been registered in this matter at Kaggalipura Police Station in Bengaluru South, but till now no one has been arrested. After this incident, the state’s main opposition party BJP has attacked the Congress government. BJP state president B. Y. Calling it a serious lapse in security, Vijayendra alleged that law and order in the state has completely broken down under the Congress government.
