Veteran batsman Virat Kohli says that he cannot hit 40-50 sixes in one season of IPL. Kohli has given this statement after Royal Challengers Bangalore became champion for the second time.
This season, a young player like Vaibhav Suryavanshi hit 72 sixes, while Kohli hit only 25 sixes. In such a situation, Virat has admitted that he is not a player who hits 50 sixes in a season.
Kohli batted amazingly in IPL 2026 and scored 675 runs. He also played an unbeaten inning of 75 runs in the final match. Even though Kohli hit 25 sixes in the season, he hit 73 fours. Above him are Sai Sudarshan (75) and Shubhman Gill (74). For this reason, Kohli admitted that even though he cannot hit 50 sixes, he can hit 70-80 fours.

After RCB became the champion, IPL shared a video in which Kohli said, “I am not a player who can hit 40-50 sixes in a season but I can hit 70-80 fours. I have worked very hard on this aspect of my game. I will play only those shots which I can play easily and face the bowlers boldly. My aim is to perform as effectively as possible. It feels good to know that when I come to the crease But if I play consistently, my team’s win percentage has been 100. This made me understand that if I spend time at the crease, our chances of winning increase.”

Kohli further said, “When we came to play in this match, it did not feel like last year. We were very calm and we had full confidence in our skills. We knew that if we played to our full potential, we would win. We are the best team in this tournament and our performance in the league stage proved it. We were the table topper in the league and reached the finals before all the other teams. Our team’s performance throughout the season was very good.”
