The Indian contingent will look to add more medals to their tally as the Commonwealth Games (CWG) 2026 move into the third day. So far, India have secured at least two medals, with winning a bronze in para powerlifting and Lovlina Borgohai securing at least a bronze after reaching the semi-final.
On Day 3, India athletes will compete in lawn bowls, boxing, swimming, artistic gymnastics and 3×3 wheelchair basketball.
The day will see Indian swimmers Dhakshan Shashikumar and Aryan Nehra competing in the men’s 400m freestyle heats, and aiming for a place in the final, which will take place late night on Friday. Meanwhile, boxing has always been one of India’s top medal prospects and Sachin, who will take on Canada’s Keoma Al-Ahmadieh in the men’s 60kg Round of 32, will look to continue the legacy of his predecessors.
The Indian women’s 3×3 wheelchair basketball team, comprising Minakshi, Reena, Laxmi and Ritu, will take on Wales in a Pool B group-stage encounter, while the women’s artistic gymnastics team of Pranati Nayak, Nishka Agarwal, Protishta Samanta and Eshitaa Rewale will compete in the final.
