TVC Shoot Suggests Launch Is Close

Automakers typically conduct promotional shoots only when a vehicle is nearing launch. The fact that the updated Brezza has now been spotted at a filming location suggests that Maruti Suzuki may be preparing marketing material ahead of its official debut. Hat tip to automotive enthusiast Tushar for sharing the exclusive spy shots.

Previous undisguised images had already revealed a revised front fascia. The facelifted Brezza gets a wider grille with a thicker chrome element running across the centre, giving the compact SUV a more premium appearance. The front bumper has also been redesigned with vertically-oriented fog lamp housings and a more prominent silver skid plate. These changes lend the Brezza a tougher and more upright stance compared to the outgoing model.

New Features And Mechanical Changes Expected

Spy shots from earlier test mules had also revealed a new 6-speed manual gearbox. If launched, it would replace the current 5-speed unit and could improve highway cruising comfort and fuel efficiency. There are also reports suggesting that Maruti Suzuki could introduce a new 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine option with the facelift.

Such a move would allow the company to stay within the lower GST bracket applicable to sub-1.2-litre petrol engines while offering stronger performance. The existing 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol and CNG powertrain options are expected to continue. On the feature front, the updated Brezza is expected to receive a larger 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system, replacing the current 9-inch unit. Other additions could include ventilated seats, pano sunroof, updated upholstery and new trim finishes.
