After the uproar in Noida, Yogi government has taken a big decision for the workers. On the recommendation of the High Power Committee formed on the instructions of the Chief Minister, the government has announced an interim increase in the minimum wage.
It is divided into three categories. Increased interim rates have been fixed for Noida-Ghaziabad, municipal corporation cities and other districts of the state. Companies will not be able to pay salary less than this. These will be considered effective from April 1. At the same time, the government has termed the viral news on social media about minimum wage of workers being fixed at Rs 20 thousand per month as completely misleading and baseless.
The state government has clarified that such information is being spread with the aim of misleading people. At the same time, the government also issued an order to increase the interim salary. The Government of India is in the process of setting minimum floor wages at the national level under the new labor codes, which aims to ensure uniform minimum wages for workers across the country, according to the government.
In this sequence, the state government is also holding extensive discussions with employers’ organizations, labor organizations and other stakeholders. The suggestions received from them are being examined. Recently the minimum wage rates have been notified in the state. Under this, the monthly wage for unskilled workers has been fixed at Rs 11313.65 and the daily wage has been fixed at Rs 435.14.
The monthly wage for semi-skilled workers has been fixed at Rs 12446 and the daily wage has been fixed at Rs 478.69, while the monthly wage for skilled workers has been fixed at Rs 13940.37 and the daily wage has been fixed at Rs 536.16. The rules for the new labor codes are currently in the process of promulgation. After consultation with all the parties, the government has decided to make an immediate interim increase in the minimum wage. The process of determining the minimum wage will be started by the government on the basis of the recommendations of the Wage Board to be constituted in the coming month. An order in this regard was also issued late on Monday night.
