Indian women’s cricket team’s young wicketkeeper-batsman Yastika Bhatia has scored her first century in Test cricket. In the second innings of the only Test match against England, Yastika batted brilliantly and touched the 100 mark and scored a century for the first time in her fourth Test match. With this, Yastika Bhatia became the first female cricketer to score a Test century at the historic Lord’s Stadium. This first century of Yastika came in his fourth Test match and the interesting thing is that in this one innings alone he scored more runs than in the previous three Test matches.

Yastika Bhatia touched this historic milestone on the third day of the women’s Test match being played for the first time at Lord’s. Yastika, who returned not out after scoring 39 runs on the second day of the match, extended her innings on the third day and scored a half-century for only the second time in the Test. However, even before that, senior partner Smriti Mandhana missed her century and was out after scoring 70 runs but Yastika managed to reach 100 runs.

After completing her fifty in the first session, Yastika returned not out on 91 runs. Then after the second session started, he did not take much time to reach his century. As soon as Yastika took 1 run by playing a shot towards the covers, she completed her century and with this, Team India present in the Lord’s balcony and thousands of fans present in the stadium stood on their feet and started clapping for Yastika. This is Yastika’s first century in the seventh innings of Test cricket, while she became the first female batsman in the world to score a Test century at Lord’s.
