There is a deep connection between water and forest, conservation of both is necessary

Governor Shri Deka said that water and forests are deeply interconnected. If water sources are protected, vegetation and greenery will also be preserved, whereas having sufficient trees strengthens the rain cycle and makes recharge of water sources possible. He said that to maintain the balance of nature, conservation of both water and forests is equally necessary.

Urge to join ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ campaign

The Governor appealed to the citizens to actively participate in the ‘One Tree in the Name of Mother’ campaign and plant as many saplings as possible. He said that tree planting is not just an effort to improve the environment, but it is an important step towards ensuring a safe and healthy future for the coming generations. Trees play an important role in maintaining natural balance, promoting water conservation and protecting groundwater levels.

Increasing water crisis is a matter of concern, efforts will have to be made from now on

He said that the level of water sources is continuously decreasing in many areas of the country and the world, which is a matter of serious concern for the future. If effective measures for water conservation are not taken in time, the water crisis may become more serious in the coming years. He stressed on adopting measures like rain water harvesting, responsible use of water, conservation of traditional water sources and large scale plantation.
