West Bengal Annapurna Yojana: How much financial assistance will women get every month under the Annapurna Yojana of West Bengal? When and where will the canteen scheme providing fish and rice for Rs 5 start? When will the application process for Annapurna Yojana start and who will be eligible for it?
Rs 3000 Scheme For Women in West Bengal: After the formation of the new government in the politics of West Bengal, preparations have started to implement the big promises made to the public. The newly elected Chief Minister of the state Suvendu Adhikari made two such big announcements on Tuesday, which can have a direct impact on the poor and middle class families.
The government has announced that under ‘Annapurna Yojana’, eligible women will be given financial assistance of Rs 3000 every month. Along with this, a plan has also been put forward to provide fish and rice at just Rs 5 by opening 400 special canteens across the state. Both these schemes are being seen as a big relief for the economically weaker sections of West Bengal.
Applications will start from 27th May
Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari said that the application process for Annapurna Scheme will be started from May 27. Under this, application forms will be given to eligible women, after which the beneficiaries will be selected after completing the verification process. Although the government has not yet issued all the detailed guidelines related to eligibility, but according to initial information, the objective of the scheme is to provide direct financial assistance to economically weaker women so that they can handle household expenses and essential needs in a better way. Political analysts believe that this scheme could be a big social welfare initiative designed keeping in mind the women voters of the state.

Rs 3000 will come to your account every month
According to the proposed scheme of the government, an assistance amount of Rs 3000 will be directly transferred to the bank account of the selected women every month. If this scheme is fully implemented then lakhs of women can get regular financial help.
Fish and rice will be available for Rs 5
Making another big announcement in the same program, the Chief Minister said that 400 dedicated canteens will be started in West Bengal, where fish and rice will be provided to the people for just Rs 5. Fish and rice are considered very important in the food culture of Bengal and the government wants to provide relief to the poor sections by making it available at low prices. The objective of the scheme is to ensure that economically weaker people can get nutritious food at low prices.
Who will get the benefit?
Although the government has not yet released the final eligibility list of beneficiaries, it is believed that the benefits of the scheme can be given to low income groups, poor families and needy women on priority basis. Similarly, Rs 5 canteens can also be started in those areas where a large number of labourers, low income group people and daily wage earners live.
Big social message in Bengal politics
Immediately after the formation of the new government in the state, such announcements are also being considered very important politically. On one hand, there is talk of direct financial assistance for women, while on the other hand, efforts are being made to reach out to the poor class through cheap food schemes. Now the biggest question is how fast the government implements these schemes and how many people are able to get its actual benefits. At present, the discussion about Annapurna Yojana and Rs 5 fish-rice canteen has intensified in West Bengal.
