According to information quoting Ayatollah Hakim Elahi, representative of the Iranian Supreme Leader, Mojtaba Khamenei has been advised not to attend the funeral. The representative also said that despite the peace agreement with America, the crisis of trust between the two countries has not completely ended. At the same time, tension with Israel also continues. In such a situation, no risk will be taken during the funeral ceremony.

Iranian army spokesman Brigadier General Mohammad Akarminiya said that unprecedented security arrangements have been made during the funeral. Ayatollah Ali Khamenei will be laid to rest on July 9 in Mashhad city, while the funeral process will begin on July 4. On behalf of the Government of India, Minister of State for External Affairs Pavitra Margherita and Governor of Bihar Syed Ata Hasnain will attend the event.
It is noteworthy that Ayatollah Ali Khamenei was killed in the missile attack on 28 February. Mujtaba Khamenei was also seriously injured in the same attack.
