Chirag Paswan informed Home Minister Amit Shah about the Bharat Tiwari encounter in Bhojpur district and the mob lynching of two youths from Paswan community in Rajgir, Nalanda. He demanded to ensure fair investigation in both the cases and take action against the culprits as per law.

Questions are already being raised on Bihar government regarding Bharat Tiwari encounter. Questions have been raised on the police action from within the opposition as well as the government. The matter came into further discussion when state government minister Ashok Chaudhary publicly asked that if instructions were given for better treatment of Bharat Tiwari, then under what circumstances the STF action was taken.

Politics intensified between government and opposition

Rashtriya Janata Dal leader Tejashwi Yadav is also continuously attacking the Bihar government regarding this matter. He alleged that removing the then SDPO Rajesh Kumar Sharma, who was said to be the main accused in the case, from the police headquarters and giving him new responsibility raises many questions. Tejashwi Yadav says that the government is only taking formal steps instead of taking concrete action in this entire matter.
