Why does India need uranium?
India’s electricity demand is continuously increasing. Although uranium reserves are present in the country in states like Jharkhand, Rajasthan, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka and Meghalaya, domestic production is less than the requirement. By getting uranium from Australia, India will be able to provide regular fuel to its nuclear power plants.
