Do you know why acidity occurs? Experts say that when the gastric gland i.e. the glands of the stomach produce extra acid (hydrochloric acid) to digest the food. Then this acid disturbs the upper layer of the stomach. Due to this, heartburn or sour belching starts. Let us tell you through experts why tea becomes the reason for this…

What do experts say

Dr. Mahesh Gupta (Director Gastroenterology, Fortis Noida) It is said that it has often been seen that people complain of gas formation after drinking tea with milk. The reason for this could be that either they have lactose intolerance. This means that they cannot digest milk. There is a lactase enzyme in our body which helps in digesting milk. Experts say that if there is deficiency of it in the body then we are not able to digest milk. Due to this, problems like acidity, gas or sometimes even diarrhea can occur.

caffeine content

Some people drink tea on an empty stomach. It contains caffeine and due to this some people may have acidity or gas problems. Or acid reflux may also occur. If people drink too much tea throughout the day, then this problem can bother them all the time. It is wrong to drink tea on an empty stomach. Experts say that it is important to eat something with it.

timing of drinking tea

The timing of drinking tea also matters. It is important to know that when we drink tea with milk, we get acidity. Sometimes drinking too much tea in the morning can cause problems or drinking it in the evening can bother you. Therefore, take special care of three things. Do not drink tea in excessive quantity, it is also important not to consume it on an empty stomach and take care of the right time.

These habits also become the cause of acidity

The main reason for acidity or acid reflux is our spoiled lifestyle and bad eating habits.

The routine of most people is disturbed. Most of them do not keep themselves physically active at all. Due to this, many health problems including worsening of metabolic rate start forming in the body. We must remain active for at least 30 minutes.

The habit of eating fried or fried food items also weakens the digestive system. In India, people eat a lot of things made in refined or other oils. Due to this the digestive system and gut health deteriorates. In such a situation, the problem of acidity persists all the time.
