- University Registrar Samar Bahadur Singh said that the proposal to change the name was made in the Executive Council meeting held on Wednesday. This proposal was passed unanimously by all the members without any opposition. The Registrar also made it clear that now this proposal will be sent to the Madhya Pradesh Government. Only the government will take the final decision on changing the name of the university.
- Registrar Singh said, “Yesterday there was a meeting of the Executive Council in the University, in which a proposal was made that the name of Barkatullah University should be changed to ‘Vagdevi Bhopal University’. This proposal was passed unanimously. Now this decision has been taken, after this proposal I will write to the government for further necessary action. Once the approval is received from the administration, only an official notification is left to be issued. This final decision will be taken at the government level only.”
