Train Linen Theft Viral Video: Many times, many passengers traveling in AC coaches of Indian Railways take towels, sheets or blankets with them considering them as minor things. But a viral video has revealed the hidden truth behind this habit, after knowing which people might think before doing it again. In the video, a railway employee said that the loss of linen missing from the train is often recovered directly from his salary. This video has been shared by YouTuber Naveen Singh on social media. Appealing to the people, he wrote that the problems of railway employees should also be understood and passengers should avoid such activities.
Responsibility of handling linen in AC coach, but losses are also part of it.
In the video, railway employee Amit Yadav explains that his duty is to give sheets, towels and blankets to the passengers in AC coaches and collect them back after the journey is over. He says that many passengers do not return these items after use and take them with them. According to Amit Yadav, when any linen goes missing, in many cases he has to compensate for it from his own pocket. He told that once he had to pay about Rs 5,000 out of his salary of Rs 14,000 due to missing goods. After this incident, he changed the way of delivering goods and started being more cautious, but the incidents of theft did not stop completely.
Now towel is given in train only on demand
The employee also mentioned a recent incident in the video. According to him, a passenger asked why the towel was not given in advance. On this he said that due to continuous theft, now towels are given only when needed. However, despite the conversation, the passenger also allegedly took the towel with him. It is clear from this incident that the carelessness of some people affects the entire system. Employees have to take extra precautions to prevent theft, while even honest passengers do not get the same facilities as before. Watch the viral video below-
People expressed their displeasure on social media
After the video surfaced, a large number of people on social media criticized this behavior. Many users said that it is wrong to take public property as personal property. Some people called it a lack of civic responsibility, while many said that both moral education and public awareness are needed in such cases. People also say that the railway facilities are for the convenience of the passengers and not for taking them home. Such seemingly small actions turn out to be a big problem for employees who support their families on limited salaries. Therefore, it is the responsibility of every passenger to keep the railway property safe and leave it back after use.
