WhatsApp is bringing a new feature that will filter business chats and put them in a separate section. Its purpose is to keep the chat list clean by controlling spam and marketing messages. This feature is still in development.
New Delhi: Although notifications give us necessary information, sometimes they become so much that they become a headache. Now the world’s most popular messaging app WhatsApp is bringing a new feature to reduce this problem. According to a report, this feature for Android users will help in organizing chats better and reducing spam.
Business chat filtering feature coming in WhatsApp
According to the report of WABetaInfo, Meta-owned WhatsApp is working on a system that will automatically put chats coming from business accounts in a separate section. In this new system, business messages will be moved from the main inbox to a special section after a fixed time. Its purpose is to reduce congestion in users’ chat lists and control unnecessary spam messages.
Reports say that this feature is still in the development stage. It has not even been released for beta testing yet. Hopefully users will get this in some future update. When this feature is activated, users will be able to more easily manage conversations with business accounts and focus more on their personal chats.
The biggest impact of this change will be on those automated business accounts that send offers, promotions and marketing messages. According to a screenshot shared by WhatsApp, this system will work in such a way that after about 24 hours of receiving business messages, they will automatically go to a different section.
There will be less problem with marketing messages.
This feature will bring great relief to those users who are constantly troubled by marketing messages. Apart from this, some other recent updates of WhatsApp are also quite useful. The most special among these is the facility to connect with anyone using the username, in which there is no need to share the phone number. This is being considered a big step for privacy.
Apart from this, there are also reports that WhatsApp is also testing a built-in noise cancellation feature for voice and video calls. This system detects and reduces ambient noise, such as traffic, wind or background noise, so that the person talking is heard more clearly. The company hopes that such new features will make WhatsApp more user-friendly and secure.
