BJP on Rahul Gandhi: After the passing of the Anti Paper Leak Amendment Bill in the Lok Sabha, political rhetoric has further intensified. Now the Bharatiya Janata Party has strongly retaliated on the statement of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, in which he had raised questions on Home Minister Amit Shah for ordering firing on the protesting students. BJP MP Sambit Patra held a press conference and accused Rahul Gandhi of misleading the House and the country.
‘Rahul Gandhi lied serially’: Sambit Patra
BJP MP Sambit Patra said that the Lok Sabha has made the anti-paper leak law more stringent in the interest of students, but the opposition tried to give political color to this serious issue. He said that Rahul Gandhi claimed that the order to open fire on the students was given by Home Minister Amit Shah, whereas no such incident took place.
Sambit Patra said, “When no bullets have been fired, the question of giving orders does not arise. The responsibility of maintaining law and order during any protest rests with the local administration and the magistrate present on the spot. The Home Minister does not give such orders. Rahul Gandhi’s statement is completely baseless and misleading.”

Amit Shah’s presence and foreign travel also targeted
In the press conference, Sambit Patra also answered Rahul Gandhi’s question in which he had asked why the Home Minister was not present in the House. Patra said that Amit Shah attends public events and information about his activities is already public.
He taunted and said, “Amit Shah does not go abroad secretly like you. Even at the time when Rahul Gandhi was speaking, the Home Minister was present in the Parliament complex. His name was taken only to create a political sensation.”
Questions raised on Rahul Gandhi’s comments regarding students
Sambit Patra also criticized Rahul Gandhi’s statement related to students. He alleged that Rahul Gandhi mentioned three categories of students in the Lok Sabha and used such language which is an insult to the students.
The BJP MP said, “Every student in the country is a student. It is not appropriate to put them in any derogatory category. Congress should have a factual debate instead of doing politics on the students’ issue.”
Allegations and counter-allegations have intensified on this issue between Rahul Gandhi and BJP. On one hand, Congress is accusing the government of suppressing the voice of students, while BJP says that the opposition is trying to spread confusion by going beyond the facts. In such a situation, this political dispute along with anti-paper leak law may also remain a topic of discussion in the coming days.
