Akshay Kumar’s ‘Welcome to the Jungle’ suffered a big loss on the 15th day of the release of ‘Dhamaal 4’. The film could earn only Rs 1 crore. The path to Rs 150 crore club seems to be difficult.
Akshay Kumar’s multi-starrer comedy film ‘Welcome to the Jungle’ maintained a strong hold at the box office in the first two weeks, but the beginning of the third week brought a shock for it. After the release of Ajay Devgan starrer ‘Dhamaal 4’, there was a decline in both the shows and audience of the film. Its impact was directly visible on the earnings and the film reached its lowest collection on the 15th day of release. Now the biggest question is whether the film will be able to reach the Rs 150 crore net club or the challenge of new films will stop its pace completely.
Did ‘Dhamal 4’ put brakes on the earnings of ‘Welcome to the Jungle’?
‘Welcome to the Jungle’, which performed brilliantly at the box office for two weeks, is now facing a direct challenge from Ajay Devgan’s ‘Dhamal 4’. Due to new releases, film shows were reduced in many theaters and the audience’s inclination towards new comedy franchises also increased. Its effect was clearly visible in the earnings of third Friday.

How much box office collection did ‘Welcome to the Jungle’ make on the 15th day?
According to initial data of trade reports, the film collected only Rs 1 crore nett on the 15th day of its release i.e. 3rd Friday. This is believed to be its lowest daily turnover till date. With this, the total Indian net collection of the film has reached Rs 126.05 crore.
Has it become difficult to reach the Rs 150 crore club now?
The film will have to earn around Rs 24 crore more to reach the Rs 150 crore nett club. However, this journey does not seem easy amidst the newly released films. If the number of viewers increases on Saturday and Sunday, the film can make a comeback, but at the moment its pace does not seem to be the same as before.
How was the performance of the film in the first two weeks?
This multi-starrer film, directed by Ahmed Khan, earned consistently good earnings in the first two weeks. Even in the second week, the film continued to do business of more than Rs 2 crore daily. This was the reason why it made a net collection of more than Rs 125 crore in a short time, which is actually the cost of the film. That means whatever income the film is making now is direct profit.
How much was the worldwide collection of ‘Welcome to the Jungle’?
‘Welcome to the Jungle’ has also declined in the foreign market. On the 15th day i.e. third Friday, the film collected only Rs 25 lakh in the overseas market. With this, the total gross collection of the film abroad has reached Rs 31.70 crore. The gross collection of the film in India has been Rs 149.80 crore. Overall, ‘Welcome 3’ has made a gross business of Rs 181.50 crore at the worldwide box office.

Now what will be the real challenge at the box office?
Now the film is eyeing the weekend. If the family audience again visits theaters on Saturday and Sunday, then there may be a jump in the film’s earnings. But amidst the strong performance of ‘Dhamal 4’, it seems more difficult than before for ‘Welcome to the Jungle’ to touch the figure of Rs 150 crore.
