Ex Google Engineer Viral See viral post.
Viral X Post: Many people dream of living abroad. Better lifestyle, new culture and bigger career opportunities are often the biggest reasons for this decision. But when one remains away from one’s country and family for a long time, many such experiences also come to the fore which no one would ever think of before. Former Google employee and forward deployed engineer Anu Sharma, after spending six months abroad, shared his similar experiences on social media platform X, which are now becoming a topic of discussion among people.
Go abroad and see India from a new perspective
Anu Sharma says that living abroad made some aspects of her life better than before, but some things also seemed more difficult than before. According to him, good facilities and organized life are definitely available, but many emotional challenges are also associated with it. He told that during his stay abroad, he realized that there are excellent opportunities for career and growth in India also. The interesting thing was that after going away from the country, his outlook towards India became more positive. He believes that sometimes distance gives us an opportunity to understand the real strength of our country.
It’s not easy living away from home
Anu admitted in her post that the impact of being away from home and family is more than expected. He said that homesickness is not just a word, but a feeling which almost every person living abroad feels at some time or the other. He also told that in such times, office colleagues become the biggest support. In a new city and new environment, the same people start playing a family-like role. This experience made him more self-reliant than ever before. He humorously wrote that in six months he felt as if he had gained six years of experience.
Real home is made of people, not places
Anu Sharma’s most emotional talk was about the definition of ‘home’. He said that one can live even in the most beautiful city of the world, but if one’s people are not with him then one always feels incomplete. According to him, home is not the name of a city or country, but the feeling of relationships that make life complete. She also informed that she is returning to Delhi for the next few months.
