IMD Weather Update: The weather of 22 July 2026 is bringing both relief and challenges for many states of North and Central India. Light rain and drizzle will continue in Delhi-NCR, while rain may persist in many parts of Uttar Pradesh and heavy rain in some districts. Rain with thunder and lightning is expected to continue in isolated areas in Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan, Haryana and Maharashtra. There will be a drop in temperature at many places, which will provide relief to people from the heat.

Delhi-NCR: Light rain will provide relief

The maximum temperature in Delhi on July 22 is expected to be 32 degrees Celsius and the minimum will be 23 degrees Celsius. The sky will remain cloudy throughout the day and there may be light rain or drizzle. On July 23 and 24, the maximum temperature will be around 33 degrees with cloudy sky. At present no weather warning is issued.

Uttar Pradesh: Rain in many districts, possibility of heavy rain in some areas

The weather will be most active in Uttar Pradesh on July 22. Most of the districts including Lucknow, Kanpur, Prayagraj, Varanasi, Agra, Ayodhya, Bareilly, Bijnor, Meerut, Banda, Ballia and Hapur will remain cloudy with intermittent rain. There is a warning of heavy rain in Banda, while rains may continue throughout the day in Lucknow, Kanpur, Prayagraj and Varanasi. The maximum temperature is expected to be around 36 degrees in Agra, 29 degrees in Lucknow and 30 degrees in Varanasi. Rain will continue in most of the districts on 23rd and 24th July also.

Madhya Pradesh: Period of rain with thunder and lightning

Bhopal, Indore, Chitrakoot, Ujjain and Gwalior will be partly cloudy on July 22 and rain and thundershowers may be seen at many places. The maximum temperature in Bhopal and Indore will be between 30 to 31 degrees, while in Gwalior the temperature can reach up to 34 degrees. Warning of lightning and storm continues in most districts. The same weather will remain on 23rd and 24th July also.

Chhattisgarh: Continuous rain continues

The sky will be completely covered with clouds in Raipur, Durg, Ambikapur and Saraipali on July 22. There is a possibility of more than one round of rain and thundershowers. The maximum temperature is expected to be 27 degrees in Raipur and Durg, 27 degrees in Ambikapur and 27 degrees in Saraipali. Lightning warning continues in most areas. The weather will remain almost the same for the next two days also.

Rajasthan: Rain with thunder in many cities

There will be rain and thundershowers in Jaipur, Ajmer, Kota, Udaipur, Mount Abu, Pilani, Jodhpur and Bikaner on July 22. The maximum temperature is expected to be 32 degrees in Jaipur, 30 degrees in Ajmer, 29 degrees in Udaipur and 31 degrees in Kota. There may be scattered rain amidst clouds in Jaisalmer and Jodhpur. The situation will remain the same in most cities on July 23 and 24.

Haryana: Effect of clouds, rain and strong winds

Ambala, Gurugram, Karnal, Hisar, Rohtak, Narnaul and Bhiwani will remain cloudy on July 22. Light to moderate rain and thundershowers may occur at many places along with strong surface winds. The maximum temperature in Ambala and Gurugram will be 31 to 32 degrees, while in Rohtak and Hisar it will be around 33 degrees. The effect of rain and strong winds will continue on 23rd and 24th July also.

Maharashtra: Moderate rain in Mumbai, light rain in Pune-Nashik

There is a possibility of moderate rain throughout the day on July 22 in the entire Mumbai metropolis including Borivali, Chembur, Colaba, Mulund, Powai, Santa Cruz and Worli. The maximum temperature will be around 31 degrees. The temperature may be 28 degrees with light rain in Pune, 31 degrees in Nashik, 36 degrees in Solapur and moderate to heavy rain in Ratnagiri. Rain is likely to continue in Mumbai and Konkan region on July 23 and 24.

Monsoon will be fully active in Delhi-NCR, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Haryana, Rajasthan and Maharashtra on 22 July 2026.
