Which Bollywood song did Indian tourists dance to on Train Street? How did people react to this viral video on social media? Why is Vietnam’s train street considered so popular among tourists? What caused the controversy over the second viral video of Garba being performed near a VietJet Air flight?
A group of Indian tourists is being trolled fiercely on social media. The reason is her dancing on the iconic Bollywood song ‘Chainya Chainya’ on Vietnam’s famous ‘Train Street’, the video of which has gone viral. Social media users accused the group of seeking online attention and said such people reinforce misconceptions about Indian travelers abroad.
This viral video was shared by Shweta Jain, founder of a Mumbai-based jewelery brand, who was holidaying in Vietnam with her friends. In the clip, the group is seen dancing in full swing on Hanoi’s popular Train Street. It is a narrow railway line with cafes and houses on both sides and the place is packed with tourists.
It was written on the video, “Vietnam ke Train Street gaye aur Chhaiyaa Chhaiyaa nahi kiya toh kya Train Street gaye?”. Whereas, the caption read, “Filmy heart, global streets.”
Many users criticized the tourists, saying that public places in foreign countries are increasingly being turned into platforms for creating viral social media content. Many users claimed that the clip shows why Indian tourists often face criticism internationally, while others questioned the growing obsession with creating gimmicky travel content just for the sake of online identity.
This video went viral just a day after the incident in which another video related to Indian tourists in Vietnam had surfaced. A separate group was seen performing impromptu garba on the airport tarmac near a parked VietJet Air flight, drawing sharp criticism over security and public conduct.
