Vikram Kakade Leading Race With Parth Pawar’S Backing? Developments In NCP Over MLC Selection

Pune: Internal activities within the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) have intensified ahead of the Legislative Council elections, with the “Parth faction” reportedly becoming active in pushing for Vikram Kakade’s candidacy.

Kakade, considered a close associate of Parth Pawar, is currently the subject of widespread speculation as the frontrunner among the potential candidates.

Even before the party’s crucial core committee meeting, Kakade’s name is gaining significant momentum. His growing organizational influence and close ties with Parth Pawar are strengthening his claim. Within party circles, it is also being noted that the political weight he carries as the son of former MP Sanjay Kakade cannot be overlooked.

A final decision is expected to be taken in the upcoming core committee meeting, which is likely to be attended by senior leaders such as Sunetra Pawar, Sunil Tatkare, and Praful Patel.

Meanwhile, former Dharashiv District President Suresh Birajdar remains in the race, while Zeeshan Siddique, who is recognized as a prominent party face despite his recent defeat in the assembly elections, is also considered a serious contender. Additionally, it is understood that the name of former MLA and Praful Patel’s close associate, Rajendra Jain, is also under consideration.
