Born in a middle-class family in a village in Sonipat district of Haryana, Vijeta Dahiya did her early education from Holy Child School. His father has been a teacher. During his student life, he fulfilled his pocket money and educational needs by giving tuitions. He later obtained a B.Tech degree in Production and Industrial Engineering from Delhi Technological University (DTU). To meet his expenses, he used to teach tuition during his college days.
Got job in Ministry of External Affairs after passing SSC CGL exam
After finishing college, he got a campus placement in Ranbaxy Lab, but his mind was always in the creative field. For this reason he reached Mumbai and started looking for opportunities in the film industry. However, after initial struggle, he cleared the Combined Graduate Level (SSC CGL) examination and joined the Ministry of External Affairs in the year 2012. Vijeta Dahiya also worked on Haryanvi films and web series. His films ‘Dararen’ and ‘Opri-Parai’ received good response from the audience, while Opri-Parai also received the Best Web Series award at the Faridabad Film Festival. He also made his mark in the field of writing. His books ‘Power of Universe’, ‘To Hell With That Job’ and Hindi book ‘Bhad Mein Jaaye Naukri’ have been published. This book is based on his career, struggles and life experiences. Apart from this, he worked as a researcher and script writer with YouTuber Dhruv Rathi for about five years. According to Vijeta Dahiya, he joined the Cockroach Movement not because of any personal identity, but because of the campaign’s objective. During the protest at Jantar Mantar demanding the resignation of the Union Education Minister in the NEET paper leak case, a video went viral on social media, in which winner Dahiya was allegedly seen eating a burger at a fast-food outlet. After the video surfaced, questions were raised on his role. As the controversy escalated, Cockroach Janta Party issued an official statement announcing his removal from the post of spokesperson and relieving him of all official responsibilities. The party said that his conduct was not in accordance with the spirit of the movement and the principles of the organization.
