Vietnam Boat Accident: The mortal remains of those who lost their lives in the boat accident in Vietnam reached India today. Ravi Teja from Andhra Pradesh is also among the dead. Who had made a promise to his family and daughters shortly before the accident. The family is crying remembering this.
Hindupuram (Andhra Pradesh): The family of Ravi Teja, who was the victim of a tourist boat accident in Vietnam, is unable to forget his last video call. Just hours before the accident, Ravi had happily shown his family a glimpse of his vacation over video call. Now remembering the same things, the family is in bad condition and crying.
Ravi Teja, a resident of Hindupuram in Sri Sathya Sai district of Andhra Pradesh, was the owner of ‘Lucky Lava Mobile Store’. He had gone to visit Vietnam, where he lost his life in a boat accident. Before boarding that ill-fated boat, he had talked to his wife, two daughters and mother. Family members told that Ravi Teja was very happy and excited during the entire journey.
The family is crying remembering the last video
- According to the family, Ravi Teja had made a video call to his wife Vedha Shree and two daughters Sahasra and Shloka on Friday night. During this call he happily talked about his vacation, showed her the places he had visited and assured her that he was thoroughly enjoying the trip.
- On Saturday morning, Ravi Teja spoke to his mother Sandhya Rani for about 30 minutes. During the conversation, he showed his mother beautiful views and also gave a glimpse of his boat trip. The family says he seemed very happy and excited during the entire call.
‘Study well, I will return…
- A few hours later, the tourist boat met with an accident. The family initially hoped that Ravi Teja would have survived, but later the news of his death left them devastated. His mother was shattered to remember that that conversation with her son was her last conversation.
- Recalling their last conversation, his daughter Sahasra said, “He spoke to me on video call last Friday night. He said he would be back next Wednesday, asked me to attend the program and study well. We were waiting for his return.”
Wife said – everything was so good…
- Wife Vedha Shri told that Ravi Teja had talked to the family on video call for about 15 to 20 minutes. He said, “He called us yesterday, that is, Friday evening. He talked to all three of us for about 15 to 20 minutes… He showed us everything there and talked to us. He showed us how beautiful everything is, it is like this, it is like that.”
- His younger daughter Shloka also recalled the call, saying, “He made a video call on Friday evening and showed us everything. He even mentioned chocolates.”

Ravi Teja’s mother Sandhya Rani told that she had talked to him for about 30 minutes before leaving for the boat trip on Saturday morning. Recalling their last conversation, he said, “He called at 8:00 on Saturday morning. People were calling him. When they called, he said, ‘Mom, I’ll call you back.’ He called again later. He said, ‘We’re leaving in 15 minutes.’ This was the last time.”
Dead body returned to Coimbatore from Vietnam
- On Tuesday, government officials handed over the body of Ravi Teja to his family members. The family members were in grief after seeing their son’s dead body. The authorities consoled him and made funeral arrangements.
- Meanwhile, in Tamil Nadu too, a second flight from Bengaluru carrying the mortal remains of three other victims of the Vietnam boat disaster reached Coimbatore airport on Tuesday. The flight brought the mortal remains of Senthilkumar of Pappireddypatti in Dharmapuri district, Muruga Prabhu of Palani in Dindigul district and Sridhar of Salem district. Ambulances were kept ready at the airport so that the mortal remains could be sent to their hometowns after completing the necessary formalities.
