In this do-or-die match going on between India A vs Afghanistan A, there was huge drama and ruckus on the field when the umpires gave a very close decision regarding young opener Vaibhav Sooryavanshi.
Actually, point fielder Faridoon took an incredible and surprising catch on the ball of the Afghan bowler while catching it on the left side. The entire Afghanistan team was immersed in the celebration of victory and it seemed that Suryavanshi’s innings had come to an end. The on-field umpires turned to the third umpire to confirm this close catch. When the third umpire repeatedly checked the replays frame-by-frame from different camera angles, it was shown on the screen that some part of the ball was touching the ground while taking the catch. After a long investigation, the third umpire declared Vaibhav Suryavanshi ‘not out’. Seeing this decision, the Afghan players and the fans present on the field were shocked and the atmosphere became heated for some time. In this way, amid the huge uproar on the field, Vaibhav Suryavanshi got a big lease of life.
Vaibhav had returned to the pavilion
After Faridoon took a brilliant catch, Vaibhav also moved towards the pavilion. He also felt that he was out. But when the third umpire saw the replays, everyone came to life. There the ball was seen touching the ground. After which the on-field umpires once again had to call Vaibhav on the field. Cricket lovers hope that he will take full advantage of this opportunity and contribute significantly to the team’s victory.
Vaibhav is struggling for form in the ongoing tournament
Vaibhav Suryavanshi does not seem to be in any special rhythm during the Sri Lanka tour. Except his inning of 44 runs played against Afghanistan ‘A’, his bat has remained silent in other matches. Till the time of writing the news, he has been able to score only 117 runs in the last four matches, which cannot be said to be right as per his current image.
